Job Summary

Clintar is hiring a Construction Estimator. As a Estimator
, you will be responsible for selling landscaping construction work. The primary goal for this position is to meet the outdoor needs of clients while ensuring the company achieves its revenue targets. Given the cyclical nature of the landscape and snow industry, the ideal candidate will understand the season shifts and adjust their sales strategies accordingly. Building strong relationships will also ensure steady business throughout the year, especially during off-peak seasons.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Estimates & Bids:
    Prepare accurate commercial landscape and civil bids, detailing scope, labor, and materials.
  • Project Support:
    Collaborate with our construction teams to manage and execute landscape and civil projects.
  • Visit client sites to assess the work required, ensuring the proposed services align with the client’s vision and budget.
  • Maintain industry knowledge about various landscaping and construction techniques, plants, seasonal care, snow removal equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Achieve or exceed sales goals.
  • Prepare detailed proposals that outline the scope of work, costs, timelines, and other relevant details.
  • Discuss terms and conditions with clients, addressing any concerns or modifications before finalizing contracts.
  • Work closely with execution teams to ensure services sold align with operational capabilities and schedules.
  • Cultivate relationships to encourage repeat business, especially given the seasonal nature of the industry.
  • Gather feedback post-service to ensure customer satisfaction and to inform potential improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, local plant suitability, weather patterns, and competitor offerings to better position the company’s services.
  • Utilize CRM (Customer relationship management) software to organize and advance sales activities.
Qualifications
  • Landscape and Civil Expertise:
    Strong hands on background and estimation in civil and landscape construction required.
  • Reading blueprint and CAD drawings.
  • Experience in a franchise or multi-unit operations model is desired.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication capabilities.
  • Capacity to assess site conditions, client needs, and project feasibility.
  • Ability to ensure favorable terms for both client and company.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directing.
  • Customer service skills to listen to the concerns of a customer and be able to address their needs.
  • Outstanding diplomatic skills with effective verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills.
