Tactical Buyer

Drive effective purchasing processes as a Tactical Buyer with Hitachi Rail in Toronto, Ontario. You'll support the Supply Chain by executing timely purchasing activities and maintaining ERP standards.

In this hybrid role, you will manage specific commodity assignments, coordinating with suppliers to ensure seamless purchase order closures. As a Tactical Buyer, your responsibilities will include generating reports, analyzing past-due orders, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies. You'll also assist in training current buyers, leveraging your expertise to enhance procurement processes.

• Manage purchasing for assigned commodities and maintain ERP updates
• Coordinate with suppliers and Accounts Payable
• Conduct forensic analysis of past-due purchase orders
• Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness
• Document and justify purchase decisions for approval

• 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain
• Post-secondary education in business or operations
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Preferred SAP experience
• Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures
