POSITION TYPE: PERMANENT, FULL-TIME (Mon – Fri, 12 pm – 8 pm)
BackgroundBlue Thunderbird Family Care Inc. is seeking an individual for the position of Outreach Worker for our 6‑bed Transition to Independent Living Residential Home. The Outreach Worker plays a vital role in supporting young Indigenous women as they navigate the journey from care to independence. Working from a strength‑based, culturally informed approach, the candidate will prepare the young women for independent living while keeping them connected to culture and community.
The role supports job readiness, education, cultural reconnection and facilitates access to ceremonies, Indigenous teachings and healing opportunities to restore identity and foster belonging. The facility is a 6‑bed home (two 3‑bed rooms) operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The program is a safe and nurturing environment where young women will experience a strong sense of caring, support, and encouragement while building the capacity to achieve independence and pursue their dreams.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Produce satisfactory background checks
- Child & Youth Care Diploma or acceptable equivalent plus related experience
- Residential Care experience would be an asset
- Support caseload and healing plans and implement with the young women
- Ability to work under stressful situations
- Knowledge of the Child Welfare Legislation and standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Have current First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
- Have a valid class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co‑workers and contribute positively as a team member
