About the Role:

Power 97 is seeking a vibrant, creative, and energetic on-air personality to host our morning show in Winnipeg. This is a rare opportunity to join a team of talented broadcasters who are passionate about creating unforgettable radio and digital content.

As the voice our listeners turn to every morning, you will engage the audience with topical, entertaining, and authentic content, on-air, online, and in the community. From delivering a live show five days a week to connecting with fans locally, you will be an integral part of Winnipeg's iconic alternative brand.

You will contribute by:

  • Host a fun, engaging, and well-paced morning drive show that resonates with listeners.
  • Create topical, creative, and local content tailored to music fans.
  • Plan and execute a live show five days a week, maintaining strong preparation and pacing.
  • Collaborate with the team to craft memorable moments across radio, social media, and community events.
  • Drive audience engagement through innovative social media campaigns and local storytelling.
  • Represent Power 97 at promotional appearances, remote broadcasts, community events, and key local sports partnerships.
  • Contribute ideas that help grow listenership and revenue opportunities.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Journalism, Broadcasting, Radio/Television Arts, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5–7 years of proven on-air experience, ideally in a major or competitive market.
  • Experience in Alternative music format is an asset.
  • Strong on-air presence with exceptional engagement skills across radio, text, and social platforms.
  • Proficiency with broadcast tools and technology to deliver a polished, professional show.
  • Video and audio recording/editing skills, with the ability to create high-quality content from mobile devices.
  • Ability to deliver bold, authentic, and relatable content for alternative music fans.
  • Enthusiasm for community involvement and remote broadcasts.
  • Demonstrated creativity and experience building a strong social media presence.
  • Passion for alternative rock and connecting with its audience.
