Reporter/Correspondent (9-month term) - Winnipeg

Regular Full Time Union Salaried Winnipeg, Winnipeg, MB, CA

Salary Range: $59,867.08 To $81,592.69 Annually

Highlights of this opportunity
  • Be part of the team of one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers;
  • Initiate, research, and pitch original story ideas on a daily basis;
  • Write and develop approved stories for multi-platform use, ensuring accuracy and editorial quality;
  • Cover breaking news by evaluating leads, interviewing sources, and assessing relevance for target audiences;
  • Prepare scripts and story packages, including recommending visuals and collaborating with the team to finalize content.
Your accomplishments and experience include
  • A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
  • Knowledge of content management systems, Canadian Press News Style, writing headlines and copy editing (web team);
  • A strong ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of broadcast technology.
