Reporter​/correspondent Term

Position: Reporter/correspondent 9 Month Term

Highlights of this opportunity   Be part of the team of one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers;
Initiate, research, and pitch original story ideas on a daily basis;
Write and develop approved stories for multi-platform use, ensuring accuracy and editorial quality;
Cover breaking news by evaluating leads, interviewing sources, and assessing relevance for target audiences;
Prepare scripts and story packages, including recommending visuals and collaborating with the team to finalize content.
Your accomplishments and experience include   A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
Knowledge of content management systems, Canadian Press News Style, writing headlines and copy editing (web team);
A solid ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
Solid computer skills and knowledge of broadcast technology.
