Position: City News Reporter at The Uniter
The Uniter is looking for a City News Reporter passionate about Winnipeg and its communities. This part-time role requires strong writing, interviewing skills, and commitment to local journalism.

As a City Reporter, you will collaborate closely with the city editor while crafting impactful news stories. Expected to produce two 500-word articles weekly and one cover feature per semester, you should also be ready to coordinate visual elements with the team. Your participation in weekly pitch meetings and adherence to the Uniter's editorial policies will ensure the highest journalistic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the city editor on news stories

• Write two 500-word articles weekly

• Develop one cover feature each semester

• Work with visual team for story illustrations

• Attend pitch meetings and professional development workshops

Requirements:

• Strong writing and interviewing skills

• Flexible schedule to attend weekly meetings

• Knowledge of Canadian Press style and ethics

• Ability to work approximately 10 hours per week

• Available from late August to early April
