Position: Community Reporter Role with The Uniter
Join The Uniter as a Community Reporter dedicated to improving Winnipeg through journalism. This part-time position emphasizes writing, interviewing, and news analysis, requiring around 10 hours a week.

In this role, you'll report to the city editor and work actively with other editorial staff. You will pitch and write two 500-word news stories weekly along with one feature article each semester. Collaborate with the visual team to ensure each story resonates through engaging visuals while maintaining compliance with editorial policies and ethical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce two 500-word stories every week

• Create one cover feature per semester

• Work closely with the city editor

• Coordinate visuals with the editorial team

• Attend weekly pitch and section meetings

Requirements:

• Excellent writing and interviewing abilities

• Flexible enough to meet scheduling demands

• Understanding of Canadian Press style

• Approximately 10 hours of work each week

• Available during the academic publishing year
