APTN is seeking a passionate Reporter/Correspondent in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If you excel in storytelling, multimedia production, and are committed to amplifying Indigenous voices, this is for you.
In this 18-month term, you will actively pitch and develop compelling story ideas focusing on Indigenous communities. As a high-impact journalist, you'll research, write, and produce engaging content across multiple platforms, ensuring you stay attuned to current events and breaking news.
Your role involves deep community engagement, on-camera presence, and high editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pitch and develop engaging story ideas daily
• Create multimedia content for TV, web, and social
• Cover and report on breaking news effectively
• Conduct interviews with diverse sources
• Serve as a trusted face of APTN on multiple platforms
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in journalism or a related field
• Strong on-camera presence and research skills
• Ability to communicate Indigenous issues effectively
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
• Proven journalism experience essential
