Hip Hop Choreographer – Kids Competition Teams

Hip Hop Choreographer – Kids Competition Teams  Star Dance Centre is launching its first dedicated competitive dance stream for the  season and is hiring a Hip Hop Choreographer to build and lead competition pieces for our Hip Hop Competitive Teams. This is a part-time, in-person role with a fixed Friday schedule.
Friday schedule: 5:00-6:00pm Hip Hop Comp Team Youth (Ages 10-12) and 6:00-7:00pm Hip Hop Comp Team Teen (Ages 13-15). The choreographer is responsible for creating original competition-ready routines for both age groups, refining pieces across the season, and bringing each team to performance-ready standard in time for competitions and showcases.
This is not a drop-in choreography role. The right person commits to the full season, builds a relationship with each team, and understands how to develop group pieces that grow with the dancers over time rather than delivering a finished product and stepping back.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience creating competition choreography for kids or teen Hip Hop teams
Strong understanding of what adjudicators look for in a competitive setting
Ability to work with two distinct age groups and calibrate the work accordingly
Collaborative and communicative with studio directors and fellow coaches
Committed to the full season schedule from September 2026 through June 2027

Experience with competitive studios or dance companies is required
Must be able to commute to North York reliably every Friday
