Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Senior Advisor – Finance is responsible for assisting the CFO with overseeing the controllership function within the NTI Group of Companies, ensuring financial data is accurate and timely; supporting the treasury function, which includes cash management, investments and borrowing; and actively supervising personnel. The Senior Advisor – Finance will also provide professional and managerial leadership to the CFO team as delegated and, when required, act with the delegated authority of the CFO as directed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the CFO with the controllership function within the NTI Group of Companies.
  • Ensure financial data is accurate and timely.
  • Support the treasury function, including cash management, investments and borrowing.
  • Supervise personnel in an active and delegated capacity.
  • Provide qualified and managerial leadership to the CFO team as delegated.
  • Act with the delegated authority of the CFO as directed.
Qualifications
  • Management studies diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior accounting position.
  • Valuable understanding of Not-for-Profit accounting and audit procedures.
  • Solid work ethic, highly motivated, and ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and team‑building skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English;
    Inuktitut and Inuinnaquat are assets.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages, including Sage 50, Sage 300, and Microsoft Office.
  • Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary: $ per annum (commensurate with experience).
  • Comprehensive benefit package includes an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance.
  • Housing allowance: $35,865.00.
