Responsibilities- Member Services – Process over‑the‑counter financial services efficiently; refer complex issues to the appropriate department.
- Transactions – Handle deposits, withdrawals, loans, utility payments, money orders, credit card advances, foreign/domestic exchange calculations, cheque cashing; balance ATM, night deposits, and cash drawer daily.
- Problem Resolution – Resolve routine issues with member accounts and deposit instruments; adhere to security procedures protecting cash and negotiable items; prevent fraud.
- Audits – Meet balancing, unlocated outages, high‑risk errors, and daily work audit requirements within timelines.
- Member Inquiry Response – Proactively respond to member inquiries in all mediums (in person, phone, email).
- Product Promotion – Use member financial knowledge to position value of products and services.
- Policy Adherence – Maintain knowledge of credit union policies, risk management, confidentiality, security, and fraud prevention.
- Relationship Management – Differentiate credit union and competitor products to meet member needs; communicate product information to secure sales; use an advice‑based approach and ask for sale; cross‑sell all products; solicit new members.
- Product Knowledge – Keep up‑to‑date knowledge of all products and relevant policies and legislation by reviewing literature and attending updates.
- Teamwork – Maintain open communication and cooperate with staff; participate in meetings, planning, and training to achieve objectives.
- Business Development & Community Relations – Seek referral opportunities for lending and wealth teams; retain and expand member relationships while pursuing new business sources; act as a community ambassador.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education in Business Administration or related field is an asset.
- Minimum 1‑year experience in customer/member service.
- Additional experience in a Member Services Representative role is preferred.
- Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail with high accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and perform well under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions.
- Knowledge of Access Credit Union’s products and services.
- Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of risk management in the financial industry.
- Proficient computer skills.
Starting Salary: $39,000 per year. Benefits include 100% company‑paid health benefits, employer‑matched pension plan, continuing education, and career advancement opportunities.
