Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of Envirotech Ag Systems. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and provides strategic financial insights to support business growth, project profitability, and operational efficiency.

The Controller plays a key leadership role in aligning financial management with the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, payroll, GL, reconciliations)

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with applicable standards (ASPE or IFRS as applicable)

Manage year-end processes and coordinate with external accountants/auditors

Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs

Cost Accounting & Project Tracking

Monitor job costing and project profitability (critical for ag system builds/installations)

Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances

Support pricing decisions and margin optimization

Implement and maintain cost accounting systems aligned with manufacturing/installation workflows

Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting

Provide variance analysis and actionable insights

Partner with operations to align financial plans with production and project schedules

Cash Flow & Treasury

Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships

Monitor receivables, payables, and inventory levels

Support financing activities and capital planning

Internal Controls & Compliance

Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies

Ensure compliance with tax regulations (GST/HST, payroll, corporate tax)

Manage government reporting and filings (including potential SR&ED support if applicable)

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor accounting/finance staff

Improve processes, systems, and automation

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and sales teams

Strategic Support

Provide financial analysis for business decisions (expansion, capital investments, new product lines)

Support contract review and risk assessment for large projects

Assist executive leadership with strategic planning

Qualifications
Education & Certification

CPA designation (required or strongly preferred)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience

5–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience

Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or project-based environments preferred

Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management

Experience with ERP/accounting systems

Ability to translate financial data into operational insights

Strong communication skills with both financial and non-financial teams

Working Environment

Based in a fast-paced, growth-oriented agricultural systems company

Involves collaboration with shop floor, project managers, and leadership

May require occasional travel to project sites or facilities
