Reporting to the Director, Finance & Property, the Financial Analyst will serve as the primary finance partner for the Eastern Region, responsible for managing weekly and monthly financial reporting, reviewing minor capital projects, leading period-end analysis, and supporting detailed budgeting and three-year planning. The role will also lead internal quarterly financial review sessions with cross-functional teams. This position collaborates closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including Loblaws, store managers, internal departments, and internal and external auditors.
You Will   Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports for the Eastern Region, ensuring timely, accurate delivery and clear communication of results to key stakeholders.
Review and track minor capital investment projects across the business, including stores, central production centers, support centers, and the digital team.
Coordinate and monitor Eastern Region capital expenditures, ensuring each profit center and project remains within approved limits and timelines, and proactively highlight any idle or underutilized capital resources to management.
Support period‑end financial analysis for Eastern Region support center stakeholders, including variance analysis on sales, gross profit, and operating expenses versus budget and prior year.
Lead internal quarterly review discussions with business partners, consolidating commentary and insights for management decision‑making.
Support the development of the annual budget and three‑year plan, including preparing detailed budgets for Eastern Region support center departments and the digital team.
Act as a strategic finance partner to Eastern Region leadership, translating financial insights into actionable recommendations and supporting key operational and investment decisions.
Participate in annual inventory close activities for stores and warehouses, coordinating counts of inventory and supplies and collaborating with internal and external auditors.
You Should Have / Be   Possess a college degree, major in Accounting or possess an equivalent Accounting Designation (Level 2 CFA) or possess a minimum 3 years of accounting experience
Have a track record in delivering results, demonstrate strong ability to work on many tasks simultaneously, prioritize and complete requests in an efficient manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization and with external stakeholders; with strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to solve problems independently.
Demonstrate integrity and teamwork.
Able to work under pressure with a focus on accuracy and meeting various deadlines.
A self‑starter who always takes the initiative to learn and improve.
Possess Intermediate to advance level in MS Words and PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
