The Recovered Arts Film & Theatre Collective seeks a Treasurer for its Board of Directors. Utilize your financial expertise to help foster a community supporting recovery through the artistic expression of film and theater.
As a volunteer Treasurer, you will oversee financial practices and budgeting, ensuring compliance with Canadian charity regulations. This role involves maintaining financial records, approving transactions, and liaising with auditors. Commit approximately 4-5 hours monthly to board meetings and community engagement activities over a one-year term.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure precise financial records are maintained
• Approve transactions as a secondary signatory
• Coordinate with auditors for financial statement preparation
• Support the CRA application for charitable status
Requirements:
• Experience in accounting or finance
• Knowledge of Canadian charity reporting requirements
• Valued lived experience of addiction
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Prior board or executive leadership experience considered an asset
