Capital Projects Accountant

Position: Full-Time Capital Projects Accountant Needed
Exciting opportunity to work as a Capital Projects Accountant with the City of Winnipeg, focusing on finances for major Transit initiatives. This full-time role allows professionals to manage financial operations for projects worth $539 million.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will engage in diverse tasks including cash flow forecasting, procurement analysis, and compliance verification. This position is critical for maintaining financial integrity throughout the Department's projects while aiding in capital budgeting and commitment control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze capital project procurement documents

• Prepare audit-ready financial claims for funding

• Liaise with various levels of government on financial matters

• Conduct financial management across diverse capital projects

• Lead the financial year-end reporting process

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance

• CPA designation required

• At least 5 years of accounting experience

• Understanding of asset management and budgeting

• Strong project management and communication skills
