About

the Role

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a broad range of HR functions while providing front-line support to employees and leaders. This role combines technical HRMS expertise with hands-on HR generalist responsibilities across the entire employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • HR Systems, Data & Process Administration
    • Learn, support, and administer the UKG HR system, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) and applying sound judgment to troubleshooting and user support.
    • Configure workflows, forms, and system processes to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant HR operations.
    • Monitor data integrity, generate reports, and contribute insights to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Employee Relations & Front-Line HR Support
    • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, interpreting HR policies, procedures, and programs in a consistent and practical manner.
    • Support day-to-day employee relations matters by assessing situations, providing guidance, and escalating complex issues as appropriate.
    • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in all employee and leader interactions.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Transitions
    • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities for production roles, including candidate assessment, interview support, and hiring documentation.
    • Contribute to recruitment strategies and community outreach initiatives such as job fairs.
    • Apply HR best practices to onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and exit/stay interviews.
  • Policy, Compliance & HR Documentation
    • Apply employment legislation and internal policies to support consistent and compliant people practices.
    • Draft, review, and maintain HR documentation, including employee handbook content and workplace resources.
    • Deliver and support training related to HR policies, procedures.
    • Prepare employment-related documentation with attention to accuracy, compliance, and organizational standards.
  • HR Programs, Compensation & Culture Support
    • Support compensation-related processes by applying established guidelines and ensuring accurate documentation for production roles.
    • Contribute to HR program administration, including job changes, pay updates, and data validation.
    • Support training, engagement, and culture initiatives that reinforce a positive and respectful workplace.
  • Education & Experience
    • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • CPHR designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
    • Minimum 2–3 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
    Skills & Competencies
    • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with HRIS/HRMS platforms is required (UKG is an asset).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and comfort working with HR data and reporting.
    • Effective communication skills and a service-oriented, practical approach to employee support.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
