About the Role:

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in bringing Johnston Group’s Purpose and Values to life. You will support leaders and employees in a way that is customer‑obsessed, grounded in kindness, and focused on doing what’s right. You will champion innovation and foster trust, humility, and authentic connection across the organization.

This role operates under the care and support of the Director of Human Resources, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, disability management program coordination, various HR projects and reporting activities. This role is ideal for someone who leads with empathy and builds trust through action. You will help shape the future of HR at Johnston Group by ensuring customer excellence and fostering a culture of care through thoughtful guidance and proactive HR practices.

What you will bring:

  • Deep expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition, including full‑cycle recruitment from intake to offer, with the ability to manage both specialized and high‑volume hiring needs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute initiatives with clarity and structure.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs and deliver thoughtful, responsive HR support.
  • Curiosity, strong business acumen, and decision‑making grounded in sound judgment.
  • An innovative mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A helpful, collaborative approach with the ability to flex across various skill sets—thinking creatively, executing tasks, and partnering effectively with teams.
  • Experience with HR analytics, metrics, and reporting to support data‑driven decisions.
  • Proven success leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
  • Experience in employee relations, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and support leaders with sound guidance.
  • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or Generalist role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources Certificate (CPHR preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruitment
  • Strong foundation in HR best practices and scope of accountabilities associated within the HR function
  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into HR initiatives
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to effortlessly prioritize work based on business demands and requirements with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to work in an extremely fast-paced environment in a high-growth business
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Self-starter who is flexible and able to take initiative

    Able to always maintain confidentiality
  • Preferred

  • Ability to communicate in French, both written and oral
  • Experience administering disability management programs
  • Experience creating training and development programs
