Payroll Clerk

Position: Payroll Clerk for City
Become a vital team member in the City of Winnipeg as a Payroll Clerk. This full-time temporary position efficiently manages payroll processes and employee action requests in a collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Senior Clerk, you will handle various payroll and timekeeping tasks, ensuring compliance with payroll policies. Key skills include proficiency in People Soft, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. This role emphasizes independent work while supporting the HR and Corporate Payroll teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process employee career events in People Soft HR Module

• Review and correct payroll discrepancies with Corporate Payroll

• Enter Plant & Equipment timesheets weekly

• Provide backup support to the Senior Clerk

• Assist in training new personnel as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent plus relevant experience

• Minimum of two years in Human Resources or Payroll functions

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and People Soft modules

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Enrollment in PCP Certificate Program within six months
