Overview

As the HR Business Partner, you will partner with all levels of leadership to understand business strategy to guide and recommend people solutions in support of business effectiveness and future workforce needs.

Working with your client group, you will provide consulting to drive people outcomes focused on growing internal bench strength, establishing talent pipelines, developing performance and people, optimizing organizational structure to enable transformation and service excellence, and fostering positive employee experiences to drive engagement.

To enable achievement of outcomes, you will develop strong partnerships with leaders based on trust and maintain an in-depth understanding of the People & Culture’s strategies and programs, such as total rewards, talent attraction and retention, leadership development, succession management, workforce planning, and health and wellness. You will leverage your organizational awareness to influence desired outcomes and support your leader’s success through feedback, mentoring, and coaching.

Responsibilities
  • Work with business leaders to develop and execute on people strategies to meet the needs of the business and support business objectives.
  • Support business leaders on workforce analysis and planning to address workforce gaps and organizational design requirements to achieve resource optimization.
  • Coach, mentor, and influence client group at all levels to drive organizational change.
  • Act as the main HR contact on corporate projects arising within the assigned portfolio.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop and identify solutions to meet the business needs.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related area of study.
  • Completion of the Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation, or commitment to obtain the designation is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively senior human resources experience in a variety of HR disciplines; experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Technical Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Ability to build positive working relationships and provide customer service with a strategic focus.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice employment practices and human resources legislation.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead, and motivate others through mentoring and coaching activities and by engaging others in decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple urgent tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and growth-mindset
  • Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, and training/presentation skills.
Conditions of Employment
