Position: Human Resource Generalist - Contract Role (6 to 9 Months)

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Reporting to the
Human Resources Director, Facilities Management (or designate), the Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day HR support across multiple business units throughout Canada. This position partners closely with Human Resources Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, operational leaders, and employees to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, HR systems administration, reporting, employee relations support, and compliance initiatives.

The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys balancing multiple priorities while providing outstanding internal customer service.

This is a 6 to 9 Month Contract Role

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partners closely with members of the unit management team by providing professional HR support in carrying out HR functions for our various units across Canada.
  • Assist in employee management, supporting managers and answering their queries
  • Support Talent Acquisition and HRBP Advisors with targeted hiring and new account mobilizations.
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of salaried employment offer letters, ensuring all required approvals are obtained.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for salaried employees through Dayforce.
  • Facilitate employee account setup, system access requests, and onboarding requirements for salaried new hires.
  • Prepare account closure documentation and coordinate system deactivation for departing employees.
  • Conduct and document exit interviews for salaried employees provide summaries and feedback to the Human Resources Business Partners
  • Maintain HR trackers and ensure information is updated, organized, and accurately recorded.
  • Generate employee reports through Dayforce.
  • Together with HRBP Advisors, support the management of disability management process for STD, LTD and other benefit claims in coordination with the total rewards.
  • Provide support to Human Resources Business Partners in employee relations, investigations, grievances, accommodations, and other HR initiatives.
  • Support HR audits, compliance initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
  • Human Resources diploma or certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of two (2) years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Dayforce.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience preparing employment documentation, onboarding and offboarding employees, and maintaining HR records.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
