We are currently looking for a Human Resource Generalist II at our Selkirk, MB facility.
Job summary
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, we are looking for an experienced HR professional with a collaborative approach to supporting employees, fostering positive workplace relationships and delivering efficient HR services at Gerdau's Manitoba operations - Mill, Recycling, Bradley and MFT.
Responsibilities
HR Policies /Procedures - Develop / Implement / Administer human resources plans and procedures for all location personnel
Communications - Coordinate employee communication to promote employee understanding of programs, policies and objectives
Employee / Labour Relations - Counsel supervisory personnel on employee relation matters, including employee discipline and resolution of employee grievances
Recruitment and Selection - Conduct recruitment effort for open positions and support hiring managers in the selection process
Compensation - Ensure uniform interpretation and application of wage and salary policy to provide internally equitable employee compensation
Training and Development - Assist in identifying training needs and work with corporate training team to implement programs
Engagement - Organize employee engagement activities
Benefits - Perform benefits administration and communicating benefits information to employees
Performance Management - Coordinate performance reviews and performance improvement processes for all employees
Career and Succession (C&S) - Coordinate C&S cycles, local people development committees
Record Keeping - Establish and maintain adequate personnel records for past and present employees
Goal Setting - Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Compliance - Maintain compliance with provincial and federal regulations concerning employment
Requirements
CPHR or an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline
Strong knowledge of HR principles, policies, employment legislation and best practices of HR administration
A minium of 5-7 years of Human Resource experience
Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment operating on a 24/7 schedule would be considered an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
