Shelter Team Lead at Agape House

Lead a dedicated team at Agape House Eastman Crisis Centre Inc. as a Shelter Team Lead, focused on effective management and support of shelter operations. This role includes leadership in staff training, scheduling, and performance management.

As a 0.80 FTE Shelter Team Lead, you will provide crucial everyday leadership and supervision to the Shelter Support Team. Your key tasks will involve hiring and onboarding new staff, enhancing team performance through structured feedback, and fostering a trauma-informed environment. Collaboration with community partners and adherence to best practices in gender-based violence care is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the Shelter Support Team daily

• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training of shelter staff

• Manage performance feedback and improvement processes

• Develop staff schedules ensuring safe coverage

• Collaborate with community partners effectively

Requirements:

• Proven experience in team leadership and staff management

• Knowledge of gender-based violence and trauma-informed care

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
