The Department of Families is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Associate Director with the Child and Youth Services Division.

Duties:
As a member of the department’s management team, the Associate Director (AD) is responsible to lead and manage the Child Protection Branch, provide advice and support to the Minister and Division/Department Executive. The Child Protection Branch is responsible for a comprehensive continuum of child protection services that ensure the safety and well‑being of children, families, and communities in accordance with the provisions of The Child and Family Services Act, The Child and Family Services Authorities Act, and The Adoption Act.
The AD is accountable for providing programming and direct services for the entire provincial child and family services system and specifically supporting the provincial system by coordinating the transition to Indigenous jurisdiction and agreements as they come into force. The AD is responsible for leading, coordinating, and problem solving related to transitional and emergency service delivery that occurs between the provincial programs and other Indigenous laws, jurisdictions, and service providers.

Qualifications:- Post secondary education in social work or a social science, public policy or management discipline, preferably at a master’s level, with extensive child welfare/child protection experience which may include lived experience. Other equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
