JCFS is looking for volunteers interested in being English Group Leaders for our Settlement Services Program. These leaders will lead a Speakers Group focusing on teaching newcomers English in an informal setting. The volunteer should be experienced in working with groups and comfortable running different topics of conversation. This is a 6-week commitment with classes once per week.
Skills Required:
- Must be patient, caring and compassionate
- Experience leading a group of adults
- Fluent in English
- Able to commit to a 1.5-hour shift for 6 weeks
- Knowledge of services and programs
- Admin skills
- People skills
- Any other training available to staff would be available to volunteers (First Aid/Program related)
