Responsibilities
  • Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM) is a not-for-profit organization.
  • It is a self-help organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for those living with mental health illnesses through peer support and other services.
  • Today, MDAM operates throughout Manitoba, supporting individuals, their friends, families, and caregivers that have been affected by mood disorders.
  • One of the services we offer are peer support groups that are facilitated by dedicated volunteers that have lived experience with mood disorders or co-occurring disorders.
  • A facilitator plans, guides, and manages an in-person peer support group for MDAM.
Qualifications
  • English language proficiency
  • Lived or working experience with mental health
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed listening skills
  • Knowledge of peer support or mental wellness (asset - training will be provided)

Time Commitment
