Organizational Description
Our Mission is 'To act in stewardship for Henteleff Park'. The Park is 50 acres of natural beauty located at 1964 St. Mary’s Road, Winnipeg. The volunteer run and non-profit Henteleff Park Foundation is dedicated to caring for the Park through restoration and conservation of its lands, plants, and wildlife; partnership with the community; and education about its existing ecology and many layered human and ecological history.

Description of DutiesThe Education Committee of Henteleff Park Foundation helps community members gain knowledge about the park. We use a variety of strategies including social media posts, interpretive walks, developing links with k-12 schools and post‑secondary programs. The committee is seeking a person to help develop interpretive walk topics, identify speakers, advertise the walks, track registrations, and greet the speaker and participants.
Skills Required- Interest in Henteleff Park
- Ability to identify a variety of interpretive walk topics appropriate for Henteleff Park
- Ability to identify appropriate speakers
- Willingness to learn how to use Eventbrite for registrations
- Ability to use social media to advertise interpretive walks
- Working in a committee
- Gain knowledge about Henteleff Park and related topics
- Meet community members
Age: 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment:
Daytime, Evening, Weekend
The committee's work takes place from May to September, with at least one walk per month. The work is shared with another committee member. Committee meetings take place as needed from April to September.
