SLGBTQIA+ students at Queen's University. Help create safe spaces through active listening and resource sharing.
The Peer Support Centre, overseen by the Alma Mater Society, runs the Queers 4 Peers project to support the expanding needs of queer students. As a volunteer, you will provide empathetic peer support, enhance your organizational skills, and participate in outreach events aimed at fostering community. Your involvement is pivotal in making a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete training for service operations
• Offer personal support one-on-one
• Engage in outreach and marketing efforts
• Maintain a positive and respectful environment
• Communicate effectively with the team
Requirements:
• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities
• Professional demeanor respecting boundaries
• Capacity to perform in fast-paced settings
• Commitment to ethical peer support practices
• Flexible scheduling for various shifts
