Program Coordinator - Soccer

Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for an energetic individual who has a passion for soccer to serve as a Program Coordinator in our Soccer ministry. Located at 333 King St, the Soccer ministry serves to engage and equip youth to know and follow Jesus by providing a safe space for youth to play soccer, have fun, connect with peers and mentors, and to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus.

A successful candidate for this position will recognize first and foremost that they will play a significant and vital role in the success of YFC Winnipeg; what you will do here will have an important impact on the young people who engage with the ministries  you are passionate about helping others, and want to use your experience, skills, and knowledge to support the ministry of YFC in changing the lives of youth, then this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities Facilitate indoor and outdoor soccer programs. Recruit coaches and new players, ensuring the day-to-day operation of the soccer league is executed with excellence. Look for opportunities to expand the league into new schools, the neighborhood, and communities. Coach assigned team to gain hands-on experience with the youth in the league. Recruit and equip volunteers as required.

Requirements Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Be an active participant in the life of a local church. Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission. Ability to teach and communitate skills related to soccer. Prior experience in an occupation related to coaching or instructing soccer for youth would be an asset.

Able to work well in a team as well as on your own. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
