The Community Investment Coordinator serves as a keeper of stories for The Link, advancing fund development and communications in ways that uplift the children, youth, and families we serve. Grounded in a First Nations worldview that understands story as relationship, responsibility, and renewal, this position cultivates the resources, partnerships, and public understanding required to sustain prevention, healing, and belonging across the continuum of service.
PositionScope / Impact of Error
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Investment Coordinator works closely with leadership, program teams, the Youth Council, Elders and Knowledge Carriers, families, donors, funders, and community partners. The position leads donor cultivation, grants, sponsor ships, and signature campaigns, and stewards the gathering, holding, and respectful sharing of stories across fundraising and communications channels. Errors in this position may affect donor trust, revenue stability, public understanding of The Link’s direction, and the dignity of those whose experiences are shared.
Sound judgment, cultural humility, and discretion are essential.
- Gather, hold, and share the stories of children, youth, families, Elders, and staff with consent, cultural protocol, and dignity.
- Work alongside the Youth Council, program teams, Knowledge Carriers, and families to listen for the teachings within lived experience and translate them into communications that strengthen identity, belonging, and public understanding.
- Apply trauma-informed, reciprocal storytelling practice — returning stories to those they belong to and honoring people rather than representing them.
- Maintain records of consent, cultural review, and story lifecycle across donor, funder, community, and public-facing materials.
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate an annual fund development plan aligned with the organization’s direction and long-term sustainability goals.
- Lead individual giving, monthly giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsor ships, third-party events, and signature campaigns.
- Research, write, and submit proposals to foundations, government funders, and granting bodies, with an emphasis on diversified, multi-year funding that sustains prevention, healing, and post-care.
- Cultivate and steward long‑term relationships with donors, sponsors, and funders as partners in the work, grounded in reciprocity and transparency.
- Steward The Link’s evolving identity — ensuring consistent voice, language, and visuals across partnerships, funding submissions, and public materials that reflect its direction as a Nation‑led organization.
