God is doing something among the young people at Crossroads, and we want to invest in it right now.

Crossroads MB Church is smaller Mennonite Brethren congregation in Winnipeg but God has been growing us. Our children’s ministry has been steadily expanding, and now a generation of youth is rising up behind it.

And now we are looking for a Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader to meet that moment: someone who can gather teens and young adults, disciple them, raise up leaders among them, and point them outward in mission.

Whether you are considering stepping into ministry for the first time or are ready for more responsibility, we are praying for someone who senses this is their calling for this season and brings genuine passion to it.

Job Title: Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader

Reports to: Pastor, Visioning Board

Time: 0.75 FTE (28 hrs/wk.)

Purpose: To provide leadership to our youth and young adult communities as we grow in faith, discipleship, community, and mission together.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prepare and lead regularly scheduled youth events
  • Oversee youth and young adult small groups
  • Build and equip youth leadership team
  • Provide pastoral care and mentorship opportunities to the youth and young adult communities
  • Develop and implement community outreach strategy for youth and young adults
  • Assist in the leadership of our youth and children’s Sunday morning communities
  • Oversee compliance with our youth safety policy and other administrative responsibilities
  • Other opportunities as gifted
Qualifications
  • Be spiritually mature and a member or participant in good standing of your current congregation
  • In agreement with the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith
  • Possess excellent organization and communication skills
  • Have good rapport with young people, their parents and/or guardians
  • Be in compliance with our safety policy including possessing a clear criminal record, child and adult abuse registry checks
  • Have a valid driver’s licence
Accountability
  • Be directly responsible to and meet regularly with the Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance
