We are excited to be recruiting for a dedicated Prep Cook at our amazing property, the Norwood Hotel. Shifts will primarily be evenings and weekends, butopen/flexible availability is required.

The Norwood Hotel has always been an innovative leader in the hotel industry. The Norwood Hotel has an interesting and diverse history dating back to the latter part of the 1800’s. The earliestrecords available indicate a photograph of the hotel in 1895. In 1937, the Hotel came under the ownership of the late Merle Sparrow and has been operated by the Sparrow family ever since.

This longevity in ownership makes the Norwoodthe oldest operated family hotel in Manitoba and one, if not the oldest in allof Western Canada.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Prep Cook to join our culinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail,and a commitment to consistency. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting daily food preparation, assisting with Banquet prep and dishwashingduties as needed.

Duties:

1.Prepareingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.

2.Assist inthe cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef orkitchen manager.

3.Maintaincleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils,and equipment.

4.Adhere tofood safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.

5.Help withinventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management.

6.Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during peak hours.

7.Participate in daily cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary work environment.

What youbring to the table:

1.At least 1 year of direct Culinaryexperience in a fast-paced environment

2.A positive and hardworking attitude

3.Ability to effectively communicate withteam members.

4.The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast-paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.
