Job Overview:

We are seeking an initiative-taking and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction, driving account growth, and maintaining accurate forecasting and CRM practices. The primary focus of all new business activities will be in the Manufacturing market. The secondary focus will be on the institutional market. This position reports directly to MAKA Power’s Chief Revenue Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Deliverables:

  • New Business Revenue Growth
  • Quota Achievement: % of upsell/renewal/expansion target met.
  • New Business Budget Achievement. Net new sales generated.
  • Exclusive and Non-Exclusive Contracts. # Contracts signed
  • Detailed Responsibilities:

    New Business Development.

    • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with manufacturing and institutional clients across Manitoba.
    • Identify pain points, critical objectives and decision making teams in manufacturing plants and institutional facilities.
    • Qualify and move prospects from qualifying stage through the HELP process updating each stage as the lead progresses.
    • Complete vendor set ups in new accounts and close proof of concept work in the facility.
    • Introduce Pref Power Program and collect EIR data.
    • Negotiate contracts and secure long-term partnerships that align with company growth objectives.
    • Develop and Tactical Acquisition Plans, targeting high-value organizations. Update them on a monthly basis.
    • Build and maintain strong C-level and operational relationships to establish MAKA Power as a trusted partner.
    • Deliver compelling presentations and proposals that highlight MAKA’s proven expertise
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless handoff from sales to execution, maximizing client satisfaction and retention.

    CRM System Management & Data Integrity

    • Maintain and update customer information within the CRM system.
    • Ensure all interactions, tasks, calls, emails and sales activities are logged and appropriately categorized.
    • Monitor CRM health by regularly auditing for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Utilize CRM data to create custom reports, identify trends, and inform sales strategies.
    • Log all customer and new business communications through MAKA Power’s CRM.
    • Linked In Presence:
      Maintain a professional Linked In presence, connecting with all decision makers at all assigned accounts and posting at minimum once per week.
    • Use FOCUS Selling Systems in all day to day selling activities.
    • Run HELP process without compromise.
    • Keep SPM and SWR updated on bi-weekly basis.
    • Commit to the FOCUS Selling Systems initiatives without compromise.

    Sales Performance Forecasting & Reporting

    • Analyze historical data, current market conditions, and pipeline activity to generate accurate sales forecasts.
    • Create and deliver weekly/monthly reports outlining account performance, upcoming opportunities, and potential risks.
    • Collaborate with leadership and sales teams to refine targets and ensure accountability.
    • Present key metrics and trends to internal stakeholders for strategic planning.
    • Monthly sales forecasting presentations.
    • Weekly call reporting submitted to management.
    • Any and all other tasks as assigned
