Key Responsibilities

As the Commercial Account Executive, you will play a key role in driving new business growth while delivering exceptional service to an established and growing client base. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Selling commercial insurance policies across a range of industries
  • Developing and maintaining a robust prospect list and pipeline
  • Building and nurturing strong client relationships, including on‑site client visits
  • Staying current on market trends, products, pricing, and emerging opportunities
  • Preparing proposals and arranging account placement with insurance carriers
  • Gathering and documenting accurate client information to ensure appropriate coverage and service
  • Maintaining underwriting quality and adherence to best business practices
  • Arranging payment terms for new business and ensuring timely collection of premiums
  • Supporting clients throughout the claims process
  • Occasional business travel for client meetings and relationship management
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

Education & Experience
  • Active Level 2 General Insurance License
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance experience
  • CAIB designation or actively working toward CAIB is considered an asset
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, including EPIC
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting principles

  • Proven sales and business development capabilities
  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated, client‑focused, and results‑driven mindset
