AboutThe Role
As a Commercial Account Executive, you will manage and grow a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, focusing on delivering exceptional service while driving sales and growth. You’ll work with a variety of industries, assessing their unique needs, providing tailored coverage solutions, and ensuring a seamless client experience from quote to bind.
- Lead Management:
Handle warm commercial insurance leads & appointments provided by Summit's Sales Development Team, ensuring timely and professional engagement on discovery calls. - Prospecting & Sales:
Consistently prospect new business by leveraging our data-driven outbound sales training programs, competitive intelligence tools, and our highly automated CRM which is custom-built for commercial insurance. Manage and grow a sustainable sales pipeline. - Networking:
Attend local industry events to represent Summit in the marketplace with a high level of professionalism. Expand your network for new business and strengthen key underwriting relationships. - Front Line Underwriting:
Assess prospective clients’ risk profiles, advise on risk mitigation strategies and provide creative coverage solutions tailored to their needs. - Collaboration with Account Management:
Work with our Account Management team to market leads to a variety of carriers and secure the best solutions for clients. Ensure a smooth client handoff to Account Management for day to day servicing, while maintaining strong relationships with clients. - Collaboration with Sales Development:
Foster a close working relationship with our Sales Development team, who are supporting with top of funnel sales pipeline development. Ensure communication is consistent. - Customer Engagement:
Persistently follow up with leads to convert requests for insurance into loyal customers. - Seamless Client
Experience:
Guide clients through the entire process—from information gathering to quote and binding—ensuring a smooth and efficient journey. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and provide feedback to improve overall customer experience or internal broking process. - Product Insights:
Share insights and feedback to enhance Summit’s commercial product offerings over time.
- Licensing:
Level 2 insurance license required (RIBO license is an asset). - Experience:
Minimum 3 years in an insurance sales, production underwriting, or commercial marketing role. Commercial lines experience is required. - Sales & Production: A passion for sales and production, with a proven history of meeting and exceeding performance targets.
- Systems:
Familiar with CRM (Hubspot), sales intelligence, e-signature, and other leading software is a plus. - Persistence:
Motivated and tenacious in pursuing leads and closing deals. Not afraid to pick up the phone. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. - Organizational
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously. Always documenting notes such as declined coverages, property valuations, and more for E&O purposes. - Self-Starter:
