Contribute to environmental research and water quality at Lake Winnipeg as an Environmental Officer
1. This role focuses on collecting and analyzing critical water samples and conducting in-field studies.
As a term employee, you will coordinate water, benthic, and sediment sampling at designated stations. This position entails rigorous data collection, analysis, and participation in research surveys aboard the MV Namao. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in aquatic sciences and demonstrate the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Routinely collect water quality and benthic samples
• Conduct depth profiles and environmental data recording
• Engage in surveys aboard the MV Namao for three weeks
• Perform nearshore sampling using workboats
• Assist with data organization and quality assurance
Requirements:
• Diploma/degree in aquatic or related fields
• Familiarity with sampling protocols and techniques
• Problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s license
