Your role will focus on collecting water samples and managing data related to water quality.
The Environmental Officer 1 position lasts for 31 weeks, beginning June 29, 2026. You will carry out sampling tasks, including conducting depth profiles for various environmental metrics. Fieldwork will often involve long periods on the MV Namao, along with office duties that ensure data accuracy and accessibility, supporting critical research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and analyze water samples from designated areas
• Conduct environmental depth profile measurements
• Participate in sampling cruises on the MV Namao
• Organize and manage data in the Environmental Management Database
• Collaborate on additional water quality studies
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma related to aquatic studies
• Knowledge of aquatic sampling protocols
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 Driver's license and willingness to travel
