Become part of Stantec as a proactive Junior Vegetation Ecologist focusing on oil, gas, mining, and transportation projects. This role includes responsibilities for field data collection, result analysis, and report development from our Manitoba or Saskatchewan locations.
As an essential member of the Prairies and Territories Ecosystem team, you will conduct wetland assessments and participate in diverse natural resource projects. You'll work autonomously while fostering teamwork to ensure the success of various ecological initiatives. Your contributions will be instrumental in supporting exciting local and national projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute wetland assessments and biological inventories
• Participate in natural resource planning and assessments
• Assist with mapping vegetation communities and wetlands
• Adhere to Quality Assurance and Control standards
• Commit to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment guidelines
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science (biology, ecology, or similar field)
• Minimum 3 years relevant field experience
• Familiarity with ecological mapping and plant identification
• Proficient in MS Office and ArcGIS
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
