Support NMR operations in a flagship research platform / support multidisciplinary discovery across campus and industry / grow specialist expertise.
Your next career opportunityIn this role, you will lead day-to-day NMR support for a collaborative, multi-node research platform. You will train researchers, optimise instrumentation, and help shape future magnetic resonance capabilities across the University.
What you will deliver:- Support day-to-day MMR platform operations, including user training, troubleshooting, scheduling and administrative processes.
- Undertake routine maintenance, calibration and monitoring of NMR instruments, escalating complex issues to senior platform staff.
- Develop and deliver inductions, SOPs, training materials and advanced capability development for diverse internal and external users.
- Provide high-level technical and scientific input to experimental design, data analysis and publications with collaborating research groups.
- Contribute to strategic growth of MMR capabilities, including new methods, technologies, reporting metrics and community engagement activities.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Engineering, Biophysical Sciences, Biochemistry or related field with relevant experience.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with routine NMR upkeep, including cryogen refills, calibration, maintenance and solution state NMR.
- Provide high-quality research support, contributing to experimental design, troubleshooting and integrated workflows for complex projects.
- Build collaborative relationships with researchers, technical staff and industry users across disciplines and organisational levels.
- Manage time, competing priorities and safety responsibilities, ensuring compliance with OH&S policies and risk management processes.
