Job OverviewReporting to the Vice-President as the Paint Technician you are responsible for applying paints and stains to cabinets according to specifications. You ensure work is efficiently completed in compliance with standard quality and safety protocols.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include- Applying paints and stains using various methods to surfaces including doors and cabinet parts.
- Smoothing imperfections, touchup surfaces, and make minor repairs.
- Ensuring quality of paint application is suitable for assembly.
- Inspecting parts to ensure quality and uniformity can be attained.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
- Working in an organized and safe manner, adhering to Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations. Reporting incidents or near-miss incidents immediately to management.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cabinet and millwork painting/staining.
- Strong knowledge of colour theory.
- Familiarity with various painting methods, including airless and air spraying.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and situational awareness of physical work environment.
- Creating trusting and successful working relationships.
- Setting clear, measurable and achievable goals.
- Cooperating with team members in an open, positive and respectful manner.
- Staying current with technical job skills.
- Consistently meeting customer expectation.
- Taking responsibility for the outcomes of decisions and actions.
You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
