Under the supervision of the Foreman/Lead Mechanic, the 1st Class Mechanic performs a variety of tasks related to vehicle repair and preventative maintenance. Candidates should have around five years of experience along with a Manitoba Vehicle Inspection Certificate. Daily duties encompass disassembly, assembly, testing, and reporting, as well as ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct preventative maintenance and oil changes on vehicles
• Diagnose issues through tests and inspections
• Repair tires and component parts accurately
• Read blueprints to estimate materials and time
• Maintain thorough reports on all repairs and maintenance
Requirements:
• Five years’ experience in heavy-duty equipment repair
• Red Seal Certification or equivalent is mandatory
• Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License required
• Familiarity with Arc and Acetylene welding preferred
• Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and working various shifts
