Position: Maintenance supervisor, concrete products (Selkirk)

About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor, Concrete Products will drive and implement programs to ensure a more robust, cost saving, efficient, and safety-focused plant maintenance system for our Concrete Products plants. The primary objective for this position is to create a proactive and preventative maintenance program.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Track overall maintenance costs, break down costs by categories such as parts and assets, use software to identify actions and assets that incur the highest costs.
  • Meet repair deadlines and maintain maintenance metrics (KPIs).
  • Find areas for improvement and focus on proactive maintenance strategies such as preventive and predictive maintenance; for example, bringing work in-house by hiring a certified mechanic instead of paying a contractor every time something breaks down.
  • Innovate methods and equipment to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Assist maintenance employees and subcontractors in creating Job Hazard Analyses for all maintenance functions.
  • Schedule equipment preventive maintenance for the year in advance (e.g., oil changes).
  • Find training opportunities for current workers to avoid expensive third‑party services.
  • Forecast inventory needs and decrease spare parts inventory costs.
  • Organize personnel for daily maintenance functions and repairs; supervise for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Improve onboarding process for machine operators so they are less likely to damage equipment by improper use.
  • Negotiate with maintenance vendors and spare parts providers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Education Preferred: Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Electrician or Mechanic preferred.

Required

Work Experience:

7+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required Technical

Skills:

Microsoft Suite, Google Suite.

Travel Requirements: 5%.
