Advance your electrical skills as a Substation Electrician Apprentice working in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Contribute to the construction of crucial high voltage systems that bolster renewable energy production.
This role supports the growth of the provincial power grid under the guidance of the Substation Construction Foreman. You will be directly involved in constructing and maintaining medium and high voltage systems while ensuring compliance with safety policies. This position operates on a field schedule of 10-hour days for 5 days, followed by 2 days off, with union membership required upon selection.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with steel erection and installation of high voltage equipment
- Contribute to cable installation and system commissioning
- Maintain records of daily activities and compliance
- Interpret blueprints and ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Support material inventory and risk identification
- Registered as an Electrical Apprentice in Nova Scotia or recent Brunswick
- Familiarity with safety regulations and construction practices
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Knowledge of grounding principles and procedures
