Building Automation System; BAS Technician

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Building Automation System (BAS) Technician to join our growing team based out of Winnipeg, MB. As a BAS Technician you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a positive working knowledge of PC fundamentals, PC Networking/LAN, basic electronic theory and Building Electrical/Mechanical systems.

• Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
• Assist with site commissioning, point to point verifications, troubleshooting and startup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
• Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ainsworth Safe Work and H&S Policies.
• Understand fundamentals of how HVAC systems operate on commercial buildings.
• Work with and understand HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals; demonstrate working knowledge of BAS Networking and Building System Integration.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluent in English both written and oral.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
• Graduate of Post-Secondary technical or engineering program.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office.
• Medium physical duties, the ability to stand for long periods of time in a construction environment, the ability to climb ladders, and at times work from heights.
