Temporary Operator in St. Clair Public Works

The Township of St. Clair invites applications for Temporary Operator-in-Training positions in Water/Wastewater. This role features a six-month contract focused on operational training and hands-on experience.

As a member of the Public Works Operations Department, you will work closely with the Crew Leader to perform maintenance, repairs, and operations of essential water and wastewater services. Candidates must hold a Grade 12 diploma and a valid driver’s license; additional operator certifications are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment for water/wastewater maintenance

• Perform routine repairs and labor tasks

• Support municipal system upkeep initiatives

• Communicate and interact effectively with the public

• Adhere to safety and operational procedures

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 is mandatory

• Valid Class D-Z Ontario driver’s license required

• Operator-in-Training certification is the minimum requirement

• Additional Class I/II water/wastewater certifications preferred

• Proficiency in mechanical skills and project coordination
