Position: Become a Transit Mechanic Apprentice
West Vancouver Transit is hiring a permanent full-time Transit Mechanic Apprentice. Dive into hands-on mechanical work, repairing transit vehicles and diagnosing issues using advanced software tools.

This apprenticeship offers a chance to work under the Maintenance Manager, performing mechanical repairs and assessments. Candidates will develop skills in diagnostics, welding, and maintenance documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring mechanics to progress and meet certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct mechanical overhauls and repairs as needed

• Diagnose electronic components and systems

• Maintain precise records and report tasks performed

• Undertake gas and electrical welding tasks

• Complete necessary maintenance assessments for transit vehicles

Requirements:

• Registered as a Truck and Transport Mechanic with SkilledTradesBC

• Class 2 or 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement

• At least one year of relevant mechanical experience

• Completion of Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation

• Red Seal qualification as an Automotive Service Technician is a plus
