Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi‑disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services, including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. ACSI is seeking experienced Concrete Finisher Apprentices & Journey persons to contribute to our project's success. The role reports to the site supervisor and involves finishing concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place wet concrete into the forms and spread it to a specified elevation.
  • Level and smooth the surface, round the edges and make joints or grooves to help control cracking on the surface.
  • Apply architectural, exposed, patterned or stamped, broom and smooth finishes on concrete surfaces.
  • Repair, waterproof and restore concrete surfaces.
  • Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
  • Operate responsibly by managing risk, safety, and environmental considerations across all projects and surrounding communities.
Requirements And Experience
  • Fall Protection/Working at Heights – In class
  • Experience as a Concrete Finisher in an industrial construction environment.
  • Knowledge of dry pack grout and epoxy materials, understand how to cure concrete, and proper use of power tools associated with the trade.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25 kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Candidates may be required to complete a pre‑employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check.
