Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals for full-time permanent aircraft technician or aircraft maintenance technician positions at its Winnipeg maintenance centre.
Aircraft technicians / aircraft maintenance technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following abilities:
- Ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance;
- Ability to read and understand various schematics for troubleshooting in maintenance and proficiency with computer and diagnostic tools;
- Good team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain a customer‑focused attitude in a demanding work environment.

- Successful completion of a recognized trades apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience
- Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Technician M2 licence (mandatory)
- Valid driver's licence (mandatory)
- Successful completion of pre‑employment testing, a medical examination and security screening
- Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to assume the night shift position (this is the permanent position offered with this posting; the ability to change shifts may be possible based on seniority)
- Ability to obtain an airside vehicle operating permit (mandatory)
- Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (aviation)
- Employees in this safety‑critical role must meet Air Canada medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicants.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all transportation security clearances and any additional applicable accreditations depending on the work location. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for details.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the offer is made. The pursuit of any necessary work permits/visas or other required authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidates for this position.
