Lead Construction Technician

Location

Winnipeg, Manitoba (serves Manitoba and Northern Ontario)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee petroleum equipment installation projects, including tanks and piping.
  • Install, test, and commission petroleum equipment per regulatory standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Manage subcontractors for additional disciplines (electrical, excavation, concrete, civil).
  • Resolve construction issues, including scope changes and design challenges.
  • Monitor budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform manual tasks and work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Travel as required (construction division covers Saskatchewan and adjoining provinces).
Required Competencies
  • Licensed Petroleum Installer / PM2 or PM3 Certification (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of petroleum/fueling construction experience; basic electrical knowledge an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment under tight deadlines.
  • Mechanically inclined and competent with tools and equipment.
  • Physically capable of demanding work; willing to work long shifts and extra hours.
  • Reliable, responsible, and customer‑focused.
