Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Permanent Lighting Installer / Subcontract Installation Crew – Piecework

Job Description

Trim Light Winnipeg is looking for experienced installers and/or established two-person installation crews interested in high-paying piecework installing permanent exterior lighting systems
.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced electrical, low-voltage, roofing, siding, soffit/fascia, exterior renovation or construction installers looking for additional income and flexible project-based work.

Compensation is up to $7.50 per installed linear foot per crew
, based on experience, workmanship, productivity and ability to complete installations independently.

This is not a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week position
. Work is assigned as projects become available, with significantly more opportunity during our busy season.

An efficient, experienced crew can earn excellent compensation based on production.

What You'll Be Doing

You will install Trim Light permanent exterior lighting systems on residential and commercial properties throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

Work includes measuring and laying out installations, installing custom aluminum track, installing lighting and wiring, working from ladders and lifts, routing and concealing wiring, making connections, testing completed systems and maintaining a clean professional job site.

Quality is extremely important. Our installations need to look clean during the day, operate correctly and meet Trim Light Winnipeg's installation standards.

Compensation

Up to $7.50 per installed linear foot for the complete installation crew.

Examples at the maximum piece rate:

100' installation = $750 crew compensation
200' installation = $1,500 crew compensation
300' installation = $2,250 crew compensation
400' installation = $3,000 crew compensation

The $7.50 rate represents total crew compensation, not $7.50 per foot per installer.

Actual earning potential depends on installation complexity, productivity, experience and available work.

There are no guaranteed hours or minimum annual earnings.

Ideal Candidates

We're particularly interested in applicants with experience in:

  • Permanent exterior lighting
  • Electrical or low-voltage installation
  • Roofing
  • Soffit and fascia
  • Siding/exterior construction
  • Working from extension ladders
  • Operating aerial lifts
  • Residential construction

You must be comfortable working outdoors and at heights.

Subcontract Crews

Established subcontractors are encouraged to apply.

Subcontract crews are expected to provide their own suitable vehicle, fuel, standard tools, ladders, PPE and other equipment required to complete installations.

Subcontractors must maintain appropriate insurance and WCB coverage and are responsible for their own employees/helpers, payroll, taxes and business expenses.

Specialized equipment may be available from K&S/Trim Light Winnipeg when required under separate arrangements.

What We Provide

Trim Light Winnipeg provides the sold project, Trim Light lighting materials, project information and installation specifications.

Training on the Trim Light system can be provided to experienced tradespeople who have the right construction skills but haven't installed Trim Light previously.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are:

Reliable
Productive
Professional with customers
Extremely particular about workmanship
Comfortable working independently
Safe when working at heights
Able to troubleshoot problems
Able to complete projects without constant supervision

Speed matters, but quality comes first
.

Poor workmanship, excessive callbacks or failure to follow installation standards will not be accepted.

Schedule

Project-based / piecework.

Work availability varies throughout the year and is generally higher during the permanent-lighting busy season.

This can be an excellent side-income opportunity for experienced tradespeople who already have their own vehicle and equipment
.
